2010-11 Awards
Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation is a leader in the Greek world in the number and amount of scholarships awarded to the women of Kappa Alpha Theta. For the 2010-11 academic year, 249 Theta women received $615,425 in graduate and undergraduate scholarships from Theta Foundation in support of their pursuit of highest scholarship.
SCHOLARSHIP Uses
Theta Foundation scholarship awards are issued to the recipient’s university. Scholarships support academic expenses (undergraduate or graduate) including tuition, books, and course-related fees and can be used for full-time or part-time study.
Any unused scholarship dollars are returned to Theta Foundation and cannot be held for future academic study.
Returned scholarships cannot be re-awarded and, as such, Theta Foundation encourages scholarship applications from only those women who expect to have academic expenses not funded by other scholarship or grant awards in the year for which they are applying.
SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for Theta Foundation scholarship, you must be an initiated member of Kappa Alpha Theta in good standing with Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity by the scholarship application deadline.
New members (not yet initiated) are welcome to apply for Theta Foundation scholarships, but will only be considered eligible to receive an award if Fraternity records indicate them as initiated members at the time recipients are selected.
Failure to follow complete application instructions, provide accurate information, or submit application or scholarship materials by the deadlines indicated may result in a loss of points or eligibility.
Deadlines
The Theta Foundation scholarship application is available in November and due February 1 for the coming academic year. References are due February 15. Theta Foundation scholarships are awarded once annually on June 30 and can be used in fall, spring, and/or summer semesters of the academic year for which they are awarded.
A complete calendar of deadlines is provided with each application in the Application Instructions. Deadlines are strictly enforced. Absolutely no late information is accepted.
